Sunset Green Home Project

Bliss is proud to have been selected to provide organic and sustainable mattresses to the Sunset Green Home project in Southampton. Their story is a simple one – to protect their family home from future storm damage while creating a safe environment inside and out for their family.
Back in 2010 Kim Erle was enjoying her quaint 1940’s Hamptons cottage located in Quogue with her family. In 2011, they received some storm damage from hurricane Irene. Then just one year later, Hurricane Sandy ravaged the Long Island coastline and destroyed their cottage.
She decided to design a new home that can withstand the next inevitable storm. As they began the design they discovered that the town of Southampton offered a property tax exemption for LEED certified homes. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. It’s a certification program that recognizes best in class building strategies and practices.  They are now setting the standard with this gorgeous waterfront, energy efficient, durable and environmentally friendly home. Sunset Green Home is open for tours where you can learn…
